Sharing a script and protecting its source
A script runs in the browser of whoever has it on a chart, on that person's own market data. Protecting the source means other users run your indicator and change its settings without seeing your code.
- Save the script to your Builder library, then switch on Protect source on its row. Publish it to Shared as usual; people who install it, or open a workspace or template of yours that holds it, get the protected indicator.
- You keep the source. You edit and save it as before, and everyone who has it runs your latest saved version.
- What stays visible to them is what the chart shows anyway: the name from indicator(), the settings your input.* calls declare with their titles and defaults, and everything the script draws.
- Its settings show Source is protected by the author where the code would be.
- Turning Protect source off gives readers the source again.
- XFlow Lab files shared to the gallery cannot be protected; save the script as a Builder indicator to protect it.
